Today is DAY 15 of Monika’s loss of freedom.

Today is DAY 15 of Monika’s loss of freedom.

Dear supporters of Monika Schaefer and Free Speech,

The January 15th edition of the Quesnel Cariboo Observer ran a letter in support of Monika Schaefer from Maureen Curle of Parksville, B.C. It was a response to the previous letter of mine to the Attorney General of Canada. Big thanks to Maureen for writing such a positive and provocative letter and to the editor of the newspaper, Ken Alexander, for having the courage and decency to actually run it. (See a screen shot of the letter below).

Word has also reached me from Alfred Schaefer, Monika’s brother, regarding her condition. Alfred writes in an email that the Canadian Consul and the Consul General had both been to Stadelheim Maximum Security prison in Munich to see Monika. NOW GET THIS! Alfred says that they are “ONLY PERMITTED TO VISIT A CANADIAN IN PRISON EVERY SIX MONTHS”!!! Here we have a foreign Canadian citizen visiting in Germany and then abruptly kidnapped and thrown into one of their dungeons and the Canadian government is expected to sit by idle and only check on them once every 6 months! As Alfred commented, „This is like a Soviet Gulag system.”

According to her brother Monika is in good spirits and is well aware of her situation and knows that she has a strong support base that is working hard to draw her case to public attention around the world.

Germany is bound to be embarrassed by this B’nai Brith boner that they’ve pulled on Monika Schaefer but we have to continue being pro-active and creative in raising the awareness of her imprisonment more and more throughout cyberspace. One great suggestion that was given to Alfred was to take the “Free Monika” posters and have them made into small stickers that can be plastered everywhere in order to draw further attention to this outrageous injustice that’s taking place.

Tomorrow Alfred will be doing another talk-show with Andrew Carrington Hitchcock that will update the situation further.
